If you’re getting ready for the in-person selection day with Riyadh Air, here’s exactly what to expect — stage by stage.
⭐️ Assessment Overview
The full assessment includes five stages:
1. Introduction to Riyadh Air
2. First Group Discussion
3. Second Group Discussion
4. Arm Reach, Height Check & Photo Session
5. Final Interview
☝️ Good to know: There is no English test during the in-person assessment.
🟣 Stage 1 — Introduction to Riyadh Air
The day begins with a warm welcome from the recruitment team and a presentation about the airline.
They’ll walk you through:
- Salary and benefits
- Cabin crew accommodation
- Company updates and partnerships (including the high-profile naming rights deal with Atlético Madrid’s stadium)
- Riyadh Air’s vision and brand values
This sets the tone for the day and gives you context before moving into assessments.
🟣 Stage 2 — First Group Discussion
You’ll be split into groups, and each candidate will:
- Introduce themselves in ~30 seconds
- Share a quick summary of their experience
- Answer a personal question such as:
“What is your passion?”
“Tell us about something you truly love.”
“What is your greatest achievement so far?”
💡 There may also be a round where you pick a number and receive a question such as:
“How would you make an onboard announcement during a flight delay?”
“What would you say during turbulence?”
After this, the panel takes a short break before the next stage.
🟣 Stage 3 — Second Group Discussion
This round is more challenging and scenario-based.
Your group will be given two inflight events happening at the same time, and you must decide how the crew should handle both.
🎯 Example:
A passenger becomes seriously ill and needs medical attention
At the same time, another passenger is causing a disturbance
The recruiters expect clear, structured teamwork and detailed explanations on:
- Prioritizing tasks
- Staying calm and professional
- Coordinating with the rest of the crew
- Ensuring safety and comfort for all passengers
🟣 Stage 4 — Height Check, Arm Reach Test & Photo Session
Each candidate is measured to ensure they meet company standards:
- Minimum height: 160 cm
- Arm reach test: 212 cm
After measurements, you’ll take formal full-length photos as part of your file.
🟣 Stage 5 — Final Interview
Expect questions like:
“Introduce yourself.”
(Go deeper: education, background, work history.)
“Why did you leave your previous airline or job?”
Then you’ll be given situation-based questions. You’ll need to:
- Recall a real-life experience from past work
- Explain the situation
- What you did
- What the result was
- What you learned
☝️ Think: customer service challenges, conflicts, teamwork moments, emergencies, or any service recovery stories.
